Annual Camp 2012

Gilwell Park (London)

Thursday July 26^th to Sunday August 5^th

Annual Camp 2012 will be to the home of scouting campsite – Gilwell Park just outside London. Some of the key information is outlined below:

·         Gilwell Park is the UK’s leading Scout Campsite just outside the M25 – with multiple exciting activities on site and excellent facilities

·         We will be camping and cooking for ourselves

·         Travel to UK will be via Irish Ferries (Dublin – Holyhead Route) with bus transport to / from the site

·         Tours of London & a trip to Thorpe Park are under consideration

Cost of Camp / Camp Savings

The Cost of Camp is targeted to be between €300 and €320. We are running a Camp Savings system whereby members can save each week to spread the cost of camp over the entire year. Each person travelling needs to have at least €100 saved by November 25th; €200 by March 30th with the camp paid in full by May 25th.

Included in the cost of the Camp is a Camp Hoodie which we will be organising in the coming month and will be available to members once their Camp Savings balance reaches €100. This Hoodie will double as a Section Hoodie for wear as a Casual Uniform.

Size of Travelling Party

Currently 60 people have put their names down for Camp 2012. Whilst we have secured one Olympics Ticket per person. Please note the following:

1.  We currently consider the maximum Travelling Party size is 64 based on our available transport; for anyone submitting a deposit after this maximum is reached a waiting list will be in operation; in case anyone pulls out.

2.  For people between number 59 to 64 whilst we have an Olympics Ticket we cant guarantee one during the London phase of the Camp.

Sun 29	26 Day in London & Olympics Soccer @ Wembley + Rest On Site Activities
Mon 30	All Travelling Party – Outing to London
Tues 31	6 People to Olympics Hockey + Rest On Site Activities
Wed 1	26 Day in London & Olympics Soccer @ Wembley + Rest On Site Activities
Thurs 2	On Site Activities
Fri 3	Depart Gilwell Park + Travel to Base near Stoke on Trent + Shopping at Bull Ring or Trafford Centre (TBC)
Sat 4	30 to Olympics Soccer Quarter Final + Rest of Group to Alton Towers
Sun 5	Travel Home
